Wind power capacity will reach 186 million kilowatts by 2020

Qin Haiyan, secretary-general of the Wind Energy Professional Committee of the China Renewable Energy Association, said in Chengdu recently that by 2020, renewable energy will become an effective supplementary energy source, and wind power will be more utilized as a more mature renewable energy source with development potential. According to its estimation, hydropower accounts for about 10% in 2020, wind power accounts for about 3%, nuclear power and solar energy, biomass and other renewable energy accounts for 2%. In 2020, wind power capacity will reach 186 million kilowatts.

According to reports, in the future, China will develop a number of tens of thousands of kilowatts of wind power bases to protect future wind power market demand. By 2020, 50 million kilowatts will be formed in Mengdong, Mengxi, 20 million kilowatts in Hami, Xinjiang, and 12 million kilowatts in Jiuquan, Gansu, Hebei. 10 million kilowatts, 23 million kilowatts in Jilin, and 10 million kilowatts in Jiangsu (including 7 million kilowatts at sea).
