Since the early 1970s, due to the working relationship, I have been to Changchun countless times, I have been to numerous counts of FAW, every time I got together, especially in recent years, I feel that FAW is making progress, and I feel that China's auto industry is making progress. I feel encouraged and feel a sense of confidence. Therefore, my topic for today's speech is: To march toward an industrial power with confidence! Leaders, dear friends, and colleagues in the automotive industry, After more than 50 years of development, after 30 years of reform and opening up, especially the development of the new century, China’s auto industry has established its car in the national economy as well as in the world. In the status of industry, we have always been the world's largest consumer of automobiles and the consumer market for automobiles. However, under such circumstances, we are also soberly aware that our situation has not been fundamentally changed. Our product research and development, our capacity for independent innovation, our industry's concentration, marketing and after-sales services, and the international advanced level and advanced Compared with the state, there is still a big gap. Therefore, while we are becoming a big country, we are also soberly aware that our ultimate goal or our next step should be to become an industrial power in the world. Therefore, the coming decade will be a critical period for the Chinese auto industry to become stronger and stronger. We are full of confidence, goals, steps, and tasks that we must accomplish. Now I want to do a simple analysis with you in these aspects.
First of all, we look at the automotive industry in the world. For more than one hundred years, the continuous technological progress of the automotive industry has overcome various challenges in its development, becoming the largest manufacturing industry in the world, and the pillar industry of the international economy and society. It has not changed because of the financial crisis of previous years, and it is still developing. The automobile industry is a national industrial core industry. In Europe, America, Japan, and South Korea are the pillar industries. The developing countries are also the pillar industries. Our country proposes the automobile industry as the pillar industry. It was in 1985 when the seventh five-year plan was formulated. It is clearly stated that in order to meet the development of the transportation industry, the automobile industry is regarded as an important pillar industry. The pillar industry determined at that time was the only and the earliest. In 2007, the world’s automobile production reached its highest level in history, with 74 million vehicles. By the end of last year, there were 1 billion cars in the world. That’s 6.5 people per capita in the world. There is one car. Take China as an example. In 2000, At that time, we had only 16 million vehicles at that time. The number of people killed in road traffic accidents was 93,800. By 2008, our number of road traffic deaths had dropped to 8 when we had 50 million vehicles. Ten thousand people. Last year, among the national death tolls reported in the People's Daily, our number reached 60 million vehicles. In that year, there were only 60,000 road traffic casualties. From January to June this year, our inventory is still growing, but The number of road traffic deaths between January and June this year is only 27,000. This is not what some people think, or it was once thought that with the development of roads, road traffic will increase with the development of car ownership. The number of deaths also increases linearly; instead, it is an anti-linear increase.
In terms of environmental protection, in the past ten years, starting from Europe, the Euro 4 and Euro 5 have now begun to prepare to support the Euro 6 emission standards, and all harmful emissions have been reduced by 9%. We are also following this pace. In terms of energy consumption, on the whole, in the past ten years, the growth in occupancy has doubled. We have consumed energy. Globally speaking, we have not tripled our car ownership, and our energy consumption has doubled. Therefore, the development of new energy vehicles is to broaden the broader prospects for the development of the automotive industry, as long as there is energy on the earth, the physical form of automobiles, the shape of this product will not be subverted. All of the energy and cars that the world already knows can be used. Therefore, we are not developing new energy vehicles for automobiles, based on the fact that oil will not exist, or we will only develop new energy based on the increase of oil to 200 US dollars per barrel. This is not the case with cars, that is, oil does not increase prices, and the oil of cars can also be supplied in large quantities. Our task of energy-saving and emission reduction is still very arduous. Therefore, the research and development of new energy vehicles is strategic and not a simple one. Recently, I have contacted some experts in the petrochemical industry on many occasions. I have also contacted experts in shipbuilding and met with experts on civil aircraft. What do they say about your auto industry? What did I say? He said that you are worried every day that you can't survive without oil. Experts of airplanes and ships say that if you don't have oil, they face more serious problems than we do. Therefore, based on their basic arguments, you first put your current affairs in order. Energy saving and emission reduction is the fundamental goal. No matter what kind of energy, it must be energy-saving and emission reduction. Therefore, the development of new energy vehicles is not based on oil resources. The oil experts also said that as long as the earth can still move, the energy of petroleum will not disappear. Therefore, the development of new energy vehicles should be based on the development of a broader perspective for the development of the automotive industry, not just for the development of an energy source. .
Secondly, China’s automobile industry has become an important part of the world’s auto industry, and it is an increasingly important component. It is a pillar industry that drives China’s economic growth and structural upgrading. This positioning is in the time of the 9th Five-Year Plan. At that time, the Central Government had identified five pillar industries and was a pillar industry driving economic growth and structural upgrading. After 20 years passed, the automobile industry has followed this path. After 30 years of reform and opening up and the development of the new century in the past 10 years, it also includes the tossing and development of the Olympics in 2008 and 2009. We still return to 10 years of the new century, with an average annual growth rate of 22%, which is more than double the 10.5% increase in GDP growth over the same period, and it has returned to the trajectory of growth in the new century. The status of our domestic and international automotive industry is already Basically established.
The year 09 was the most memorable year for the development of the Chinese auto industry. This year we entered a world of automobile manufacturing. We produced 13.7 million vehicles, an increase of 46%, and our output value exceeded 30,000 million. The direct tax revenue provided by our country exceeds 300 billion yuan. Our indirect taxes include 120 billion purchase tax, 100 billion consumption tax, 3 million direct employment, and 15 million related employment, this year In the past six months, both the number of the association and the number of technical centers have shown that we have produced and sold more than 8 million vehicles in the first half of the year. In 2009, the central government introduced the revitalization plan for the top ten industries. During the financial crisis, the Prime Minister said that confidence is even more important than gold. We can say that in 2009 we were in the automotive industry, and our confidence turned into gold. In the housing market, stock market, and auto market, it should be said that the central government is most at ease and the most satisfactory for the people is the auto market.
What is discussed below is that after three years of structural adjustment and optimization, and the rapid and sound scientific development of the next decade, China will surely become the world's automobile industry power. The focus of the three-year structural adjustment is not much talked about. One is the adjustment of the market structure, one is the adjustment of the technical structure, one is the adjustment of the product structure, and the other is the adjustment of the organizational structure. There are clear goals for three years and I will not After many years of hard work, the goal of maintaining growth has been basically achieved. The goal of organizational restructuring is expected to be realized this year. The goal of new energy vehicles remains to be realized, and the goal of technical structural adjustment needs to be done very hard. In other words, the proportion of our own branded products in market share still needs further efforts and increase.
After the structural adjustments of last year, this year and next year, we expect to use a decade or so to achieve a sound and fast development of science and technology. Finally, by 2020, China’s automobile industry will become an industrial power in the world. We have summarized the goal of revitalization into three simultaneous ones, because now all aspects are making predictions for the 12th Five-Year Plan, and some are also making predictions for the 10-year plan. I think the number is 25 million, or 2800. Ten million vehicles will be 40 million or 45 million vehicles by 2020. This is not the most important indicator for the development of the automotive industry. However, to keep pace with the three things, we must talk about all the places in our company, all the places, all the companies, and the big business groups that must be compared in the planning, or the basic bottom line.
The first one is to keep pace with the growth of GDP. In the report of the 17th National Congress, it was clearly stated that in order to vigorously promote the integration of informationization and industrialization, it is necessary to promote the development of industries from big to strong and to revitalize the equipment manufacturing industry. Automobiles are not only the pillar industries of the national industry, but also the middle of the equipment manufacturing industry. This is the most important thing to be accomplished. To support the continued growth of GDP, in the recent report of the Development Research of the State Council, experts from the Development Research Center of the State Council pointed out that the national economy has grown by 8%, and the contribution of automobiles is 1 point.
The second is to be synchronized with the construction of an innovative country. In the 2020 science and technology development plan put forward by the Central Committee in 2006, the most important goal is clearly stated, that is, China as a whole should become an innovative country in 2020, and it must clearly state the equipment manufacturing industry and information concerning the competitiveness of the country. Industry, we must master the core technology and enter the ranks of advanced countries. Therefore, in the equipment manufacturing industry, the automobile industry just said that I was the industry that took the lead. In other words, the competitiveness of the auto industry is related to the competitiveness of the country. We must Entering the ranks of advanced countries means that we must strengthen more independent innovation and technological development in more time.
Third, we must keep pace with building a well-to-do society and maintain people's needs for food, clothing, shelter, and living so that people live more decently and with dignity. The last sentence of the report of the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and the most important sentence, is that the general secretary proposed to the whole party people throughout the country that they should work hard to write a new chapter in the good life of the people. At the recent conference of academicians of the two academies, the general secretary made a description of the recent goals. What is the people's good life? He described that allowing people to eat more at ease, live more comfortably, be more convenient, be physically and mentally healthier, and live happier. Therefore, China’s automobile industry must become an industry that benefits people, allows people to get more convenient, lives more comfortably, and is healthier physically and mentally. I think in the next 10 years, at least from the perspective of the industry as a whole, we must accomplish four tasks:
First, establish an innovation system with internationally competitive technologies. Technology innovation is our core and the driving force behind the development of the industry. What I want to emphasize is that the ability of technological innovation should be internationally competitive. In other words, in the next 10 years, the core technologies and independent intellectual property rights that we have independently developed must be world-class.
Second, establish a solid foundation for the parts industry. We definitely do not rely on imported parts to assemble an industry. Therefore, although we have already established 10 major parts industrial bases for the production of our spare parts, we still have gaps compared with developed countries and more advanced countries. Over the past few years, especially in the 10 years of the new century, we have accumulated more than 1 trillion yuan in fixed asset investment in 10 years. In other words, in 2000, the fixed assets of the entire industry were only At the end of last year, 500 billion yuan had already reached 1.5 trillion yuan, an increase of 1 trillion yuan, and an average of hundreds of billions of investment each year. Such an investment surpassed that of the Chinese automobile industry from the founding day until 2000, probably Decades of investment in fixed assets. In particular, last year, according to figures from the Automobile Industry Association’s annual report, last year the industry’s investment in fixed assets totaled 320 billion yuan, which is the investment in building factories and buying equipment, of which 70% was the purchase of equipment, which increased our production capacity, and even our production capacity. It has expanded from 2 million vehicles to nearly 15 million vehicles last year. Unfortunately, in the 320 billion, 70% of them buy equipment, 70% of which are imported equipment. We have to rely heavily on imported equipment for the manufacture of some of our spare parts and equipment for some vehicles. To support the development of this industry, if this situation cannot be fundamentally changed in the next 10 years, the auto industry will encounter more and more problems alone.
Fourth, to strengthen the training of talented people and at the same time improve our sales service system. Recently, the Central Government has issued two plans on the will of the country. One is the education plan, including the reform plan, and the other is the talent plan.
